Cities' Identity Through Architecture and Arts 10th-Edition

Cities' Identity Through Architecture and Arts 10th-Edition

The 10th edition of Cities Identity Through Architecture and Arts (CITAA) returns to Cagliari city with great memories of rich traditions, vibrant art, and the enduring identity of Nubian culture gained and celebrated from the previous edition held between Aswan and Luxor cities. That experience highlighted the profound connection between architecture, art, and collective memory within a unique geographical and cultural landscape.

This year, we celebrate a milestone, the 10th edition of CITAA hosted in the beautiful city of Cagliari, that owns a distinctive identity and vibrant arts scene. We aim to explore the diverse narratives that shape urban and cultural identities across different contexts. As we gather here, we reaffirm our commitment to understanding how architecture, art, and cultural heritage influence the development and resilience of cities around the world.

Scope of the Conference

We invite scholars, practitioners, and artists to examine the multifaceted relationships between architecture, art, and urban identity. The conference will address topics such as historical urban development, contemporary architectural conservation, artistic expression in public spaces, and innovative strategies for cultural preservation and sustainable urban growth. Through interdisciplinary dialogue and collaborative exchange, we aim to foster new insights and innovative approaches to safeguarding cultural heritage and promoting exciting urban environments.

Statement of Purpose

The purpose is to create a dynamic, inclusive platform where ideas can be exchanged, collaborations can be formed, and innovative solutions can be conceived to address the evolving challenges of urban identity and cultural preservation. The unique identity of Cagliari offers a complete scene of Art that helps to deepen our understanding of the vital role that architecture and art play in shaping resilient, meaningful cities. Through this gathering, we aspire to inspire sustainable, culturally rich urban development that honors the past while strengthening the future.
